There are very few SmartBoards in my district. I am the fortunate user of one of them. A few years ago I received a grant to buy a document camera. I was steered towards the Elmo, since I didn't have enough money to get Smart's. It works great and I love how I can do so much with documents on the SmartBoard, without having to take a picture and import it, unless I want to save it. Its functionality "on the fly" is great.

Now the school is in the process of buying doc cams for all the classroom and got a bulk deal on the Lumens "Ladybug." Does anyone use one of these with a SmartBoard? Is it easy to use? Are there any other alternatives?

Thanks,
Mary Fran

You can pretty much use any document camera with the smartboard. There are quite a few teachers that I know with that model and they're fine with it. The Elmo TT-02 (which I'm assuming is the one that you have) has had an upgrade but with the same price. It is now known as the TT-02RX. Here are the improvements that were made to it:

30 Frames Per Second
XGA, SXGA and WXGA via a toggle switch
1.39 Mega Pixel CMOS (Sony)
Remote Control
Upgraded Software
Audio Video Capture
Time Lapse Photography

I believe CCS has the TT-02RX for $575.
